Video Game Challenge Progress Report (Redux Edition Part 5): Phoenix Wright – Dual Destinies

Some of you might feel a bit confused by the number on the title if you haven’t been following my ongoing video game challenge series for the blog. The number corresponds to the last time I played Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies when it was my spotlight game to finish in a month. Or rather, over the next few months. It was set aside to play Mass Effect: Andromeda back in March until I satisfactorily beat the game. With Andromeda done and off my backlog list, I decided to turn my attention back to Dual Destinies for the month of August. Quick warning, there will be light spoilers about Dual Destinies.

A Month In Video Games And Looking Toward August

Normally, this is about the time I would have a report about my latest progress with the video game I chose to finish in a month posted. If you followed along with me so far, you would know I managed to finish my ongoing video game challenge with Mass Effect: Andromeda a lot sooner than I had originally anticipated. Rather than choose an official video game challenge to replace the one I finished, I decided to use the rest of the month to play whatever game I wanted. I’ve done well in the backlog department, and I’m here to recap the games I completed or have been playing with a formal announcement on what video game I’ll be focusing on for August.

Video Game Challenge Progress Report (Redux Edition Part 4): Phoenix Wright – Dual Destinies

After taking a brief break from my video game challenges to gleefully play Final Fantasy XV a bit longer, February became the month I would dutifully return to my ongoing video game challenge with Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. Has Dual Destinies become the comeback kid for video game challenges this month?

A February Overview: simpleek’s Geeky Agenda For The Month

We are already in the second month of 2017 and finding plenty of time to do everything I set out to do has been a challenge. I am not off to a great start with the novel writing goal I set for myself this year and will have to figure out how to stay on track with that somehow. Certain other goals have been pushed to the top of my priority list until I can finally get those finished. This doesn’t mean I don’t indulge on the much leisurely side of things and making time for this blog as I go along. Those are very much a necessity for me. I decided to give everyone a taste of what I have been doing behind the scenes and what I hope to continue doing this month.

Video Game Challenge Progress Report (Redux Edition Part 2): Phoenix Wright – Dual Destinies

November has been quite the whirlwind month for me between being away on vacation for an extended amount of time and then hurrying to prepare for Thanksgiving with family and loved ones soon after I came back. As hectic as it has been, things are calming down a bit until the Christmas holidays start revving things back up again. With the month concluding and the year’s end on the horizon, it’s time I report on my progress with my ongoing video game challenge.

Video Game Challenge Progress Report (Redux Edition): Phoenix Wright – Dual Destinies

October has been barreling towards a speedy end, at least for me personally, and it feels a bit crazy that time went by as quickly as it did. Technically, my video game challenge progress report should really be going up October 31st. But if you’ve read my special overview of what was going on with my blog during this whole month, you’d know I’ll be going away for a bit. In the interest of not wasting any more time, let’s see how I did with my ongoing game challenge.

Video Game Challenge Progress Report: Phoenix Wright – Dual Destinies

We all put in time when we can to do what we love most. Deciding what fun, leisure hobby I want to spend a free weekend on is a constant struggle that hasn’t changed with the passage of time. I always think it’s a personal victory when I manage to do a little of everything in one weekend: read a book for an hour, play a video game for two hours, or write my novel for three hours. It’s a balancing act I continue to learn and work with every day. Despite finding a decent amount of time to play the game I choose for my monthly challenges lately, you still want to be able to savor your time with it.

Video Game Challenge For September: Game Number Eighteen Revealed

I always find transitioning from one season to the next really exciting. When we shift from the heat of summer days to the cool nights of crisp autumn, I see it as an opportunity to get cozy and stay in more. Things start to wind down and there’s less of a need to be out to take advantage of the sunnier days. Finishing the entire catalog of Ace Attorney games to have been released in North America from 2005-2008 with Apollo Justice last month, it was time to make a shift from the old to the relatively new. As September is the month for transitions, the next video game for my challenge is a perfect fit.
