As parts of the world slowly reopen people are re-emerging from a year of self-isolation and social distancing. Everyone is eager to party and mingle like it’s 2019. With restaurants, events, and travel no longer off limits, now is the time for everyone to step out of the house in more than just sweats. As the second half of the year appears to be a salvageable one for most, it has been the perfect time to start dusting off some outfits that have been in storage since last year and show them off as you brunch with friends or catch a live concert. Here are some of the styles I plan on wearing throughout the rest of summer.Continue reading “Coming Out Of Fashion Hibernation: The Styles I’ll Be Sporting This Summer”
Three months into CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and the game never fails to stun every time I load it up and play. Night City is a gritty, neon colored dream (or hell) and it’s easy to get lost in the different neighborhoods that make up the world. One of the things I love most about the game is the many styles and options a player has to dress up their character V. When I’m not busy hacking, shooting, or fighting my way through Night City, I’m spending part of my time hunting down new pieces of clothing to create a unique look for V. My efforts in coming up with the best outfit combinations has led to an ever growing collection of pictures of V nailing each look every time she’s out on the town. Check out my mini lookbook of V in the sleekest and cutting edge trends in Night City.Continue reading “V’s Got The Look: The Fashion Of Cyberpunk 2077”
Seasonal transitions often means doing a little rearranging in your closet to store away clothes that are no longer appropriate for the current weather, and digging out the ones that are. When the dog days of summer leaves us to make way for autumn’s cooler embrace, I always look forward to pulling out my warm sweaters and comfy boots. Due to the current pandemic, our fall season over on the east coast of the United States is looking a lot different this year compared to last year. I’m still very much working from home, and the only time I do go out is for walks or takeout on nights when I want a break from home cooked meals. When looking presentable for a short time out is necessary, I’m looking for fun ways to match the cloth masks I have with whatever outfit I have on.
Spending most of your time at home, until it is deemed safe to resume life somewhat normally again, means you’re no longer figuring out what to wear each day. Your outfit of choice when you’re working from home is either your PJs or sweatpants. When your every day clothes has been reduced to whatever is comfy at home, unless you have to show your face from the waist up for a video conference, there hasn’t been a lot of need to “dress to impress” these days. Although the pandemic has temporarily taken the stress out of deciding what to wear before leaving the house each morning, I do find myself longing for a time where I was able to wear my prettiest dress to a party or donning a favorite sweater and jeans when I went to the office. The fashion deprivation I’m currently going through has led me to live my best stylish life through Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The winter snap and icy chill in the air will have people wrapped up in their coziest sweaters and warmest coats. It’s the kind of season where all you want to do is hibernate with a good book, a bingeable TV series, or an immersive video game. But for those days when you do get out in the world, sometimes you want to look your very best and dress up a bit. I’ll have moods where I’ll want to wear something pretty and flirty, but also have it be practical for the coldest months of the year. Luckily, the ongoing trend of the season is the pleated long skirt.
If you flip through fashion magazines or skim through the style section of a newspaper, you almost can’t help but feel a twinge of envy at seeing models and celebrities looking impeccably dressed, hair perfectly coiffed as if they rolled out of bed in the morning looking like they woke up that way every day. Many of us would be so lucky to manage to not even have one hair out of place before leaving the house. Or if you feel you’re completely hopeless at figuring out what will look good on you, afraid to take any sort of fashion risk that doesn’t include the tried and true but very safe basic T-shirt and jeans, then luckily there are online fashion services that are eager to help with all your fashion dilemmas.
Fashion trends can sometimes be a funny and odd thing to wrap your brain around. Some looks scream stylish and classic. Others can leave you wondering when did this become something most people want to wear as part of their every day style. Lately, I’ve encountered one trend that seems to be popping up everywhere I go and that’s the fuzzy slipper slides.
We’ve entered the last stretch of summer where everyone is relishing what’s left of barbecues, beach days, and summer vacations before the days grow shorter and those cooler fall temperatures start to settle in. But that doesn’t mean we have to put away all our summer clothes just yet. There’s still a chance to enjoy the current styles of the season and among them are front tie tops and blouses.
How people define fashion and their own style choices will vary greatly from person to person. Some will make a conscious and deliberate effort to put together an outfit that feels as if it was tailor made for them, and others will reach for the nearest T-shirt and jeans that serves the purpose of looking decent enough to walk down the street to buy a carton of milk and eggs. No matter what your style preference may be, we all know which clothes we like and don’t like. Shopping for items that’s supposed to have one basic function, such as keeping you cool during hot summer months, can sometimes be tricky and a nuisance. Buying a good enough pair of shorts has been my biggest challenge year after year.
As we enter the late part of the spring season, and begin to ease into the hot, sticky summer months, there’s an eagerness to start shedding layers and putting those heavy winter jackets in storage until Jack Frost graces us with his presence another day. Spring and summer are the perfect time for bright colors and feminine dresses. Among the styles to re-emerge is the wrap dress.
