TV sitcoms in the late 80s and into the 90s would kind of poke fun at young teen girls who would keep diaries, starting each entry with “Dear Diary” as if that was a requirement for anyone who decided to write in their notebook. While I kind of bought into the idea of being one of those girls who kept a diary, or journal as I call it now because it sounds more mature, it surprisingly became a constant ritual I kept doing into my adulthood.

Continue reading “April Update: What I Have Been Playing, Reading, And Watching”The Final Fantasy series is well known among gamers, whether you’ve played them or not, with each one having their own distinct stories and cast of characters. With as wide of a catalog this series has, so does the music that defines each game. And for those who wish to relive their favorite Final Fantasy’s music or simply enjoy the ones they’ve never played, the recent release of Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Bar Line for the Nintendo Switch is one of the best new rhythm games for all music lovers.
Continue reading “First Impressions: Theatrhythm Final Bar Line”A few weekends ago I was talking to my cousin and the topic of video games came up. Out of the blue, he threw out this question to me—what video games would you come back to again and again? After all the games I have played since the time I became a gamer, a small but growing list of games has become obvious replays for me, if I weren’t going through the backlog of games I have accumulated.
Here are the games I would 100% replay if I somehow managed to play everything in my possession.
Continue reading “Video Games Rewind: Games I’d Return To If I Had Nothing To Play”It isn’t often I would necessarily continue with a video game that’s part of a series so soon after finishing the first or second one. I finished The Witcher 2 without having jumped onto The Witcher 3 just yet. And then there’s the Ace Attorney series which I have yet to complete all the games from the beloved Phoenix Wright games. The best way to describe my gaming mood is mercurial. But the reimagined Tomb Raider from Crystal Dynamics has managed to keep me wanting to continue through the end, and my latest gaming focus is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Continue reading “First Impressions: Shadow Of The Tomb Raider”When I think about the geeky interests I have, anime has always been my first love before video games. I obsessively searched for and explored all the anime I could get my hands on. I fell in love with many and faithfully rewatched them when the mood struck. But as I got older and adult responsibilities took over my time, anime steadily declined for me. I could no longer keep up with what was new and critically acclaimed by anime fans, and anime was the last thing I seemed to want to watch when I had some downtime.
I may be considered old and no longer aware of what’s hip and cool in the anime world, but there will always be those few that will forever be evergreen in my mind. Ones I will gladly return to if I felt like revisiting my old love anime.
Continue reading “Everlasting: The Anime That Will Always Live On In My Memories”When it comes to downtime and what I have been indulging in, the feeling has been very much “slow and steady wins the race”. Rather than feeling like I have to jump from one thing to another just to tick off another item from my list, I have been taking my time in what I play, read, and watch.
Here’s what has been on my radar lately.
Continue reading “March Update: What I Have Been Playing, Reading, And Watching”If there’s one word to describe a Lara Croft video game it’s thrilling, and Crystal Dynamics’s 2015 action-adventure, a sequel to their 2013 game, Rise of the Tomb Raider has all that and more. Sometimes at an even grander scale than the first one.
Continue reading “Video Game Review: Rise Of The Tomb Raider”Nothing ever truly goes out of style and that has never been more true with the resurgence of all the 90s looks making a comeback in the last few months. I grew up during the 90s, and there were plenty of fashion from that decade I took inspiration from or longed to be old enough to wear someday. With the 90s nostalgia taking over runways and local retail stores lately, I couldn’t help but reminisce over the clothes I adored.
