If you clicked on this page, you obviously want to know more about me, the individual running this blog. I should consider myself flattered that you want to know more about me, or feel sorry for you as I bore you with my life story. I promise I’ll keep my bio as painless and not so snore inducing as possible. Why did you click this page in the first place?
Name: Christine
Current City: New York City
Interests: Reading, writing, collecting manga, video games, fashion, photography, and travel.
Favorite Books: The Great Gatsby, A Room With a View, Rebecca, The Phantom of the Opera, Lord of the Flies, Howl’s Moving Castle, Little Women, Atonement, Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games series, Jane Eyre, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Portrait of a Lady, and The House of Mirth (this only scratches the surface of the books I adore, but if I named them all, we will be here all day).
Favorite Music: My taste in music is very diverse. If you saw what’s on my iPod, you will see everything from classic ’80s music, such as David Bowie and Prince, to the ’90s, such as The Cranberries and Tal Bachman, and finally, to the current stuff like, Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson. I also toss in music from video games, movie soundtracks, and the super obscure indie type music. The way my ear approaches music is like this, whatever sounds pleasing to my ear in sound and lyrics, it gets downloaded straight to the iPod. It’s very hard to narrow down a favorite artist or band. I like a little of everything.
Favorite Television Shows: Lost, X-Files, 2 Broke Girls, The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Glee, Saved by the Bell, Full House, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Pushing Daisies to name a few. A mix of the old and new.
Favorite Movies: The Harry Potter films, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Labyrinth, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Inception, The Avengers, X-Men First Class, almost all Pixar films, any Hayao Miyazaki films, The Princess Bride, Clueless, Love Actually, Moulin Rouge, Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, (500) Days of Summer, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. As you can see, I also like a variety of films. Again, I better stop here before this list becomes longer than it should be.
Favorite Mangas: Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi, Ceres: Celestial Legend, Alice 19th, Cardcaptor Sakura, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Vampire Knight, Hana Yori Dango, Imadoki!, Mars, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and Ouran High School Host Club.
Favorite Animes: Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi, Ceres: Celestial Legend, Cardcaptor Sakura, Trigun, Midori Days, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Full Metal Panic!, Ouran High School Host Club, Full Metal Alchemist, Clannad, and Blue Seed.
Favorite Video Games: Mass Effect series, Dragon Age: Origins, The World Ends With You, Phoenix Wright games, almost any Mario games, Mortal Kombat, and Kirby’s Epic Yarn. I’m sure this list will grow bigger in time when I actually finish all the other games I have in my backlog.
Favorite Clothing Stores: H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy, Uniqlo, and Macy’s.
Additional Info: Beyond the above stats, the most you need to know about me is I’m a laid back kind of a girl. If you met me in real life, you will notice I am very easy to get along with. I may even disarm you with a smile! At least people have said I have a nice one.
One of my main missions in life is to travel and see as much of the world as possible. I have already achieved that by going to countries like Spain, France, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Morocco, and England. Though, it’s sad I haven’t covered much of the USA. Future road trip, perhaps? What makes travel exciting for me is the new places, faces, culture, and food I get to experience. These are memories I can’t trade for anything else.
I enjoy being in the company of good friends, where laughter and conversation are abundant. People fascinate me, and I always want to know as much as I can about someone. I graduated with a degree in media studies and a minor in English. My college life was filled with journalism, creative writing, and media analysis classes. If you haven’t figured it out, I am a creative individual. I like creating with my hands, which makes a pen or keyboard my tool for letting my creative side run wild.
Outside of my blogger life, I go on adventures with my friends to take advantage of the great city we live in. I’m a romantic, a practical realist, and I have huge ambitions to make it big in my chosen career path. No matter what I’m doing, I enjoy being a little goofy and geeky, but doing it in style.
