We are already in the second month of 2017 and finding plenty of time to do everything I set out to do has been a challenge. I am not off to a great start with the novel writing goal I set for myself this year and will have to figure out how to stay on track with that somehow. Certain other goals have been pushed to the top of my priority list until I can finally get those finished. This doesn’t mean I don’t indulge on the much leisurely side of things and making time for this blog as I go along. Those are very much a necessity for me. I decided to give everyone a taste of what I have been doing behind the scenes and what I hope to continue doing this month.
Yuri!!! On Ice
I mentioned how this anime has been on my radar for a while now. Last month I finally had the opportunity to watch the first episode of the anime on Crunchyroll and so far I like what I’m seeing. It’s still too soon to tell how much of a fan I’ll be of the show, but I’m looking forward to experiencing all the characters and story I’ve heard so much about.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies
As promised, I’m getting right back into my ongoing video game challenge. I’m not sure how things will go this time around, whether or not I’ll finally finish this game, but I’m going to do my best to stay focused on the game. Perhaps finish one case in a week or weekend? It could be doable. If I don’t somehow finish this game by the end of the month, it will get sidelined for Mass Effect: Andromeda when it drops March 21. I think for the sake of Phoenix and the gang, it’s best I shut the case on the game once and for all.
Final Fantasy XV – Moogle Chocobo Carnival
Alright, I know this sounds contradictory after mentioning better focus on the above game but this will be more on a casual play by basis. The recently released Moogle Chocobo Carnival is a limited time special event for the game, which means if I want to enjoy this carnival in Altissia, I’ll have to come back to it until it ends February 20. Players have the opportunity to play games, collect Choco-Mog medallions to trade for items that will get transferred to your current save file of the single-player campaign, or finally take over as photographer from Prompto for a change by taking your own photos. I’ve had a blast playing this special event and I will take maybe a few minutes or an hour each week to bask in the cuteness and excitement of this carnival with Noctis.
Ready Player One
I don’t read as many books as I used to, or I tend to get stuck on one book for a really long time because my time is very limited. I started reading this Ernest Cline book some time last year in the late fall. It’s not really a long or hard read, but sitting down and speeding through the book isn’t as simple for me these days. Now that I’m close to finishing the book, I’m hoping I can get to the end this month and then move onto the next book I have in mind to read.
This wraps up my overview of what I have been doing or will be doing this month. What geeky indulgences are you doing for the month of February?
I just finished Final Fantasy XV and I’m currently playing the after game and working on the sidequests and just exploring everything I missed. I still need to play the new Ace Attorney that came out last year. I’m hoping to add more video games and books this month.
That’s awesome! I’m hoping I’ll finish the main story of FFXV at some point. At least after Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out. By the time I finish Dual Destinies, the next game on my to play list will definitely be Spirit of Justice. I’m looking forward to being all caught up with the Ace Attorney games.
I plan on finishing reading the second book in The Expanse trilogy as well as Dark Forest by Cixin Liu (second book in the Three-Body Problem trilogy). I also would like to continue reading Rat Queens and of course watch my favorite anime shows. And I’m trying to get back into blogging consistently!
You have got quite the reading list! Are the Expanse books any relation to the TV show airing right now? I’m really having a tough time fitting anime with my other show watching habits, but I think I’ve gotten slightly better with it. Yuri!!! on Ice is my target anime of the moment. And yes, I’d love to see more blogging from you!
I’m diving into Bioshock this month. And while it’s not exactly a “romantic” game, there really is a certain air of old-time romance to Rapture.
And actually, I’m hoping to get a lot else done before March. I’m finally coming around to ME: Amdromeda, and once it drops, I don’t think I’ll be doing much else!
Well, theoretically speaking, anyway. Life still needs to happen, I guess. 🙂
Haha, those all sound great to me! 🙂 I received Bioshock Infinite as a birthday gift a while back, but haven’t had a chance to sit down and play it. I’m hoping I’ll get the chance some time down the road. And Andromeda! YES! I’m glad you’re coming around to it and hopefully this new game without Shepard will prove to be a lovable gem. Time will tell, right?
I’ve been into Dragon Quest Builders once again, but this week I have been distracted by Fire Emblem Heroes! Great game!
I haven’t gotten on the Fire Emblem Heroes train, but it does look like fun. However, I may abstain from taking part in it for now. Way too many games on my plate as it is, haha!
