A little determination or stubbornness can go a long way to completing your desired goal. It’s the final day of June and with it comes my video game challenge progress report for the month. The results of my challenge has been both surprising and mostly satisfying. It’s also different from the past few challenges I have implemented on myself.
The official start of summer has kicked off this past weekend and with it comes long days and plenty of sunshine. People are walking around showing a little more skin and the drab colors of winter are replaced with warmer and brighter ones. Among the popular colors I’ve been noticing both men and women sporting (at least on the streets of New York City) is the color yellow.
A few weeks ago, an official trailer for next month’s Sailor Moon anime reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal, debuted online. To say that the studio behind this new anime is pulling all the stops to make a faithful adaptation to Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga series would be an understatement. Clearly, there’s a move to set this newer anime of the beloved series apart from its classic ’90s counterpart.
Being an avid manga reader for the mostly shojo manga genre, I’d say I’m really well acquainted with the style and types of stories that come out of it. I’ll admit that I’ve read more manga than regular comics and graphic novels you see being published from the likes of Marvel or DC. When review copies for a recently published indie digital comic book series entitled Wynter found its way into my inbox last month, I’d say this was a great opportunity to see what other stories and great art I may be missing out on by limiting my reading to just manga.
It was stated in my last post that I’ll be doing something a little different with June’s video game pick. After failing two challenges in a row, something had to be done. I’m not a quitter by nature and I refuse to accept failure. With that being said, I’m bringing back one of the games I failed to finish.
