It’s autumn in New York, and what I love most about this season is not just the changing colors of the leaves but how the cooler temperatures allow me to wrap my neck with a great scarf.

Scarves will hardly go out of style. You have your light-weight scarves for mild temperatures or you have your heavy wool scarves for a chilly winter evening. Scarves are the most versatile accessory you can have in your wardrobe.
What I love about scarves is how it can easily dress up or down your outfit while keeping your neck warm and chic. It comes in different colors, patterns, and fabric. When I feel like mixing and matching colors with what I am wearing, I try to own at least one great scarf in a different color. I’m drawn to floral patterns or stripes and use those when I’m wearing a plain top or dress. It adds the necessary decoration I want without going overboard with my outfit. Certain fabrics can keep necks cool like light cotton, necks warm like knitted wool, or can make necks feel glamorous in satin or silk.
Versatile accessories like scarves are a great fashion must-have in your closet when you want to keep it simple and classy. Scarves can even double as a shawl or hair accessory. It really depends on how you want to wear it.

Are you a fan of scarves? What type of scarves do you prefer? Colorful and plain, or fun and pattern-filled?
I am a big fan of scarves; I have so many! You’re right a scarf can transform an outfit and like you I have a pull of scarves to choose from. My favourite scarves are printed with unique patterns. This last month I bought a beautiful zebra/leopard mix scarf in black, brown and white that seems to go with everything. ^_^ I love autumn/winter fashion.
One of my favorite things about autumn is being able to wear scarves and boots. 🙂 I also think there is a style for everyone when it comes to scarves. Every time I’m in a store and I see a scarf that catches my eye, I can’t help but buy it. Pretty soon I may need a closet for just scarves!
I don’t have many scarves, but I really like them. They are pretty essential in the cold months as I tend to get a sore throat much more easily if I don’t wear a scarf when I’m out and about. And sore throats are no fun, so scarves are real life savers. :3
I agree! My neck is highly sensitive to the cold weather as well as sore throats when the common cold/flu season starts up. It’s an added bonus that scarves can be very fashionable. 😉
I think I make more scarves for others than I wear myself! That said, I do think they are wonderful and versitile accessories (and they’re great for chilly offices over wearing a bulky sweater or jacket). I have two that are my current favs, a cotton white/floral print in a traditional length, and a large purplely-red square one that can be worn long or wrapped.
I especially love scarves that can be used as shawls. It works great in the summer when there is a slight chill in the air or when you enter an air-conditioned room.
Oh I totally agree with you. I love scarves (and boots, and gloves…), which is why autumn and winter are my favorite seasons! I tend to prefer solid colors for my clothing, and my go-to coat is black, so I like to add color to my look with a patterned scarf when it’s cold out. =)
Patterned scarves are definitely nice, especially the warm, plaid ones. They go great with solid color clothing. Gloves are always a must for me during the autumn/winter seasons. I love leather gloves and it goes great with everything! 😉
